Stormy June of Shelflove Crate

Y’all, I’m so excited to introduce another book sub box company! Shelflove Crate is fairly new and as soon as I saw what they had to offer for this month, I went and snapped up a box full throttle! The theme for June is ‘Stormy Weather Ahead’ and I already know what the featured book is, but I’m especially curious what bookish goodies are included! Let’s crack this box open!

Check out this awesome Blue Tornado postcard by Tithi Luadthong, a talented artist from Thailand! I love the whimsy in this art work portraying the fierceness of a force of nature against the innocence of a boy and his balloons. While I love using postcards to send to friends, I also collect them. This will definitely be kept for myself!

Ever hear the phrase “it’s raining cats and dogs?” Well, this magnetic bookmark by Craftedvan took that literally, and it’s mighty darn cute! FYI, I’m a dog person, so you can have the cat if this saying ever comes true.

Let’s be real, who doesn’t like posters, and bookish posters at that! I’ve never read the ‘Red Queen’ series by Victoria Aveyard, but there’s no doubting that this was designed by Miss Phi. I’m really liking the color contrast and quote selection!

Uh, yaaaaaas! If these Storm socks by Happy Socks doesn’t make you happy, then I don’t have anything to say to you. I always get this disturbing grin on my face when I get colorful, quirky socks. I never do #SockSundays in bookstagram, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like wearing them! I mean just look how punk princess the design is! This pair is raining on my parade in a good way!

I think it’s safe to say that if you don’t get a bookish candle in a sub box, then you’re probably choosing the wrong company, haha! This ‘Stormhunter’ candle by A Court of Candles is exclusive to this box and lemme tell you, it smells so fresh! Have you ever scented the air when it’s about to rain? Like charged ozone and damp leaves? That’s what I’m getting when I take a sniff at this — very appropriate for the overall theme of this box!

Here’s another sub box staple…teaaaaaaaa! I am so enamored with jasmine tea but with green tea? Daaaaaang! That combo slays so much! I’m kinda sad that there’s only a few bags of this, but I don’t think it’s exclusive to this box, right? Hopefully, I can get more from Tea Heritage. You know what’s even cuter? The bags are cloud shaped! Maybe, I’ll wait when it’s a rainy day to steep these babies up!

This is actually the author’s letter for us, but it’s pretty cool that they made a mini print on the other side! Even the bookmark has a quote from the featured book! Nothing is wasted in this box!

By this point, you probably already know what the book is. I’m actually pretty surprised to get this bookish swag because this was one of the goodies included to those lucky enough to get an ARC of the book from Tor Teen. I got the ‘Skyfire’ stormheart pendant. Here’s the characteristics: impulsive, captivating, energetic and independent. I don’t associate myself with any of those besides the last one. The pendant is still lovely, though!

Finally, the book! I’ve been wanting ‘Roar’ by Cora Carmack ever since it was announced! I’m glad Shelflove Crate decided on this for June! The best part…?

It’s freaking signed (makes dying narwhal noises of happiness)!!! How epic is this?! This is the first book from a sub box that I’ve gotten that’s actually signed by the author. No bookplate for this month, no siree! The Shelflove Team isn’t about that bookplate life…they give their fans the legit thing. Like this book has been in the hands of Cora Carmack herself and I am shook!

Overall, I am beyond happy with my first box from them! Every bookish item was curated to perfection! I paid $29.99 + shipping, and I can say that it was well worth it. Beyond worth it! If you enjoyed what you saw in my unboxing, the theme for July is ‘Shakespeare’s Mystery Town.’ If you dig that, you can either subscribe or do a one time purchase at Shelflove Crate. If you’re only interested in bookish stuff, they also offer a No Book Box option; how neat! I’m giving this June box ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, folks!
